Duke Kicks Off Blue/Black World Series with Team Draft

DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke University baseball team began its preparations for the Blue vs. Black World Series with a team draft Tuesday evening. Senior Ryan Munger and redshirt junior Chase Bebout lead Blue Team, while seniors Jeff Kremer and Al Morris serve as captains of Black Team for the annual fall intrasquad series.

The Blue Devils will play six games with a seventh game scheduled if necessary as part of the Blue vs. Black World Series, which will kick off Friday, November 2 at 8 a.m. Game two begins at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 3 while game three is set for a 2 p.m., start Sunday. Games 4-6 take place the following weekend, November 9-11.

Sophomore RHP Andrew Istler takes the mound in game one for the Blue Team, squaring off against Black Team starter, fellow RHP and sophomore Dalton Brown. Sophomore RHP Nick Piscotty faces off against rookie RHP James Marvel in game two, while sophomore LHP Trent Swart leads the Blue Team against Black Team starter, sophomore LHP Garrett Hayward, in game three.
