Central, 38 vs. Memphis, 34 vs. Wake Forest, 42 vs. Virginia & 45 vs. Miami … The previous record of five was held by the 1943 & 1989 clubs.
POINT TOTAL IN A LOSS: The 45 points scored by the Blue Devils is tied for the second-highest point total in a Duke loss, matching the 45 points scored by the 1987 team in a 47-45 loss to NC State.
PAT STREAKS: Duke extended its streak of consecutive games without a missed PAT to 68, marking the longest active streak in the nation … with six PATs in six attempts on the day, Duke pushed streak of consecutive made extra points to 186, marking the second-longest active streak in the nation.
RECEPTION RECORD FOR TRIO: With a combined reception total of 23 versus the Hurricanes, the trio of Jamison Crowder, Desmond Scott and Conner Vernon extended its own school record for most combined catches in a single season by three teammates to 206.
99-YARD TOUCHDOWN PASS: QB Sean Renfree and WR Jamison Crowder hooked up for a 99-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, marking the longest play in school and ACC history and the 26th offensive play of 99 yards in NCAA history ... it was the NCAA’s first 99-yard passing play since 2009.
THREE BLUE DEVILS NET 600+ RECEIVING YARDS: For just the second time in school history, three Duke players have topped 600 receiving yards in a season … Conner Vernon (955), Jamison Crowder (1,025) and Desmond Scott (606) all reached the plateau in 2012 … The previous trio to accomplish the feat included Vernon (746), Donovan Varner (1,047) and Austin Kelly (625) in 2009.
CROWDER & VERNON MOVE NORTH ON COMBINED RECEIVING YARDAGE LIST: With 312 combined receiving yards against Miami, the Duke duo of Jamison Crowder and Conner Vernon increased their combined annual total to 1,980, marking the highest total in school history
MORE CROWDER & VERNON: With 19 combined catches versus Miami, Jamison Crowder and Conner Vernon pushed their season total to 145 – a total that ranks first on Duke’s all-time chart for most pass receptions by two teammates in a season. Their production of 203 and 109 yards today marks the 17th time in school history that two receivers have accrued 100+ yards in the same game.
SECOND QUARTER SCORING DRIVE: The Blue Devils’ 15-play, 81-yard scoring drive midway through the second quarter was the second-longest of the season in number of plays and fourth-longest of the season in yardage … the 5:55 time of the scoring drive was also the third-longest of the season.
S JORDON BYAS: Carded six tackles on the day, in addition to one tackle for loss and one quarterback hurry, his first QBH of the season.
S WALT CANTY: Pushed his team-leading tackle total to 102 through 12 games in 2012 after posting six tackles on the afternoon … also tallied one PBU for his third of the season.
CB ROSS COCKRELL: Moved into a tie with Lamar Grant for sixth on Duke’s career pass-breakup chart (28) with one PBU against Miami.
QB BRANDON CONNETTE: Rushed four times for 10 yards and two touchdowns … ran four yards into the end zone midway through the second quarter for his sixth rushing touchdown of the season and picked up his seventh on a one-yard carry late in the fourth quarter … with the scores, he matched the fourth-highest single season total for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback … pushed his season touchdown responsibility total to 11 TDs and his career total to 19 … remains in third place on Duke’s all-time chart for career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 16.

RB JELA DUNCAN: Rushed six times for 64 yards … moved into seventh place on Duke’s single-season list for rushing yards by a freshman (516) … for the season, has rushed 99 times for 516 yards and a per attempt average of 5.2 … turned in his second-longest rush of the season with a 37-yard carry late in the third quarter.
CB TONY FOSTER: Turned in a career-high nine tackles, including six solo efforts … also recorded one tackle for loss and one PBU.
DE JUSTIN FOXX: Now owns 3.5 sacks on the season after carding one on the day … finished the afternoon with a team-high nine tackles, including three solo efforts.
