Team Notes:
•    Duke will advance to the Elite Eight for the 19th time in school history and 13th time under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Duke is now 19-8 all-time in the Sweet 16. Duke is 16-2 all-time in the Elite Eight and 11-1 under Coach K.
•    Coach K won his 82nd NCAA Tournament game, the most in Division I history. Krzyzewski is 82-24 (.774) all-time in the NCAA Tournament, the second-highest winning percentage in NCAA history.
•    Krzyzewski improved to 8-1 in head-to-head matchups against Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo.
•    Krzyzewski led Duke to its 13th 30-win season, the most 30-win seasons by any coach in NCAA Division I history.
•    Duke improved to 9-1 on neutral courts this season.
•    Duke improved to 7-2 against top-25 teams this season and 5-0 against top-10 teams.
•    Duke won its 99th NCAA Tournament game. The Blue Devils rank third all-time in NCAA history in NCAA Tournament wins, first in NCAA Tournament winning percentage (99-32, .756), fifth in NCAA Tournament games (131) and fifth in NCAA Tournament appearances (37).
•    Duke improved to 16-0 against non-conference teams this season.
•    Duke improved to 7-1 when playing NCAA Tournament games in Indianapolis, Ind., and 8-1 when playing in the state of Indiana. Duke won the 1991 and 2010 NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.
•    Duke held Michigan State to 1-of-13 shooting during a span of 12:47 in the second half. Michigan State missed nine straight field goals during that drought and went 8:30 without making a field goal. The Blue Devils strung together a 21-11 run during that span to turn a 41-38 lead into a 62-51 lead.
•    Duke forced 11 Michigan State turnovers while surrendering just six assists. Duke has limited a school-record seven opponents to less than seven assists this season.
•    Duke shot 24-of-26 (.923) from the free throw line to set a school record for highest free throw percentage in an NCAA Tournament game. The previous record was a 34-of-38 (.895) mark set against Seton Hall in the 2004 tournament. Rasheed Sulaimon tied Duke’s single-game NCAA Tournament record with 12 made free throws, matching a mark held by Jim Spanarkel (1978), Christian Laettner (1991) and Shane Battier (2001).
•    With the win, the ACC improved to 10-7 versus Big Ten teams this season. Duke is 3-0 against teams in the Big Ten this season.
•    Duke improved to 26-8 as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Duke has received either a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in 15 of the last 17 seasons and 22 times in head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s 29 NCAA Tournament trips.
•    Duke gave up just three three-point field goals to a Michigan State team that entered the game shooting .341 from three-point range with an average of 5.0 made treys per game. Duke has held its last two opponents in the tournament to a combined 5-of-31 (.161) shooting from three-point range.
•    Duke played its 211th straight game as a top-10 team. Duke is 176-35 (.834) in that span.

Player Notes:

Seth Curry
•    Netted 29 points on 8-of-17 shooting for his 18th 20-point game of the season. Curry has scored at least 20 points in two of Duke’s three NCAA Tournament games and is averaging 24.0 points for the tournament.
•    Shot a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line, improving his season free throw percentage to .821.
•    After missing his first three-pointer of the game, hit six in a row.
•    Scored in double figures for the 28th time this season and 16th time in the last 17 games.
•    Extended a streak of 17 consecutive games with a three-pointer.

Ryan Kelly
•    Duke improved to 21-1 with Kelly in the lineup in 2012-13 and 111-14 (.888) all-time. Kelly ranks third on Duke’s all-time winning percentage list behind only Shane Battier (.897) and Casey Sanders (.895).
•    Recorded four blocks, tied for the 10th most by a Duke player in an NCAA Tournament game. The four blocks were the most by a Blue Devil in an NCAA Tournament game since teammate Mason Plumlee had four against Arizona in the 2011 Sweet 16.

Mason Plumlee
•    Scored in double figures for the 32nd time in Duke’s 35 games.
•    Picked up his fourth foul with 8:12 remaining in the game but did not foul out. Plumlee did not leave the court over the final 6:02 of the game.
•    Moved into 20th place on the ACC’s all-time rebounding list with 1,073 career rebounds.

Rasheed Sulaimon
•    Scored in double figures for the 22nd time this season. Sulaimon scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half.
•    Sank 9-of-10 free throws in the second half and 12-of-14 for the game. Sulaimon’s 12 made free throws tied for the most by a Duke player in an NCAA Tournament game, matching the marks set by Jim Spanarkel, Christian Laettner and Shane Battier.

Tyler Thornton
•    Played 26 minutes off the bench and led Duke in plus-minus rating for the game with a +15 rating.
