Former Duke baseball standout Nate Freiman went deep twice for his first multi-homer game Sunday in Oakland’s 4-3 loss to Atlanta at Turner Field. Freiman was the only member of the A’s offense able to solve Braves’ hurler Mike Minor, blasting a pair of long solo home runs to finish the night 2-for-3.

Freiman clobbered a home run off Minor in the top of the second to give the A’s a 1-0 lead. Freiman’s shot traveled an estimated 459 feet, the longest home run by an Athletics player this season.

Freiman went deep again in the top of the seventh. The former Blue Devil has three home runs in his past eight plate appearances after hitting one over his first 43 plate appearances.
