  • Drafted in the 38th (1132nd overall) round of the MLB Draft as a junior by the Washington Nationals
  • Made a team-high 14 starts on the mound
  • Duke's Friday starter for most of the season
  • Went 5-6 with a 4.89 ERA
  • Threw 73.2 innings, striking out 72 batters and walking 35
  • Led Duke in strikeouts for the second straight year

  • Walked just 19 for a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 4.2 and a walks-per-nine-innings average of 2.91
  • Went 2-2 with a 3.75 ERA in four ACC starts
  • Spent his first eight starts in the midweek rotation, going 3-0 with a 3.41 ERA and 47 punchouts in 31.2 innings
  • Was promoted to the weekend rotation prior to the Clemson series and shut out the Tigers through 5.2 innings, giving up just four strikeouts while striking out 12 to earn the win (4/19)
  • Named National Pitcher Of The Week on April 23 after his start against Clemson
  • Also tabbed ACC Player Of The Week and appeared in the College Baseball Foundation's National All-Star Lineup during the same week

  • Earned a start in left field while appearing in the field in nine total contests
  • Went 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA and 10 strikeouts through 9.1 innings
  • Averaged 9.64 strikeouts per nine innings, the highest average of any Blue Devil
  • Did not give up an earned run over 4.1 innings and struck out a career-high four hitters in his first career start against Fairleigh Dickinson (3/14)
  • Batted .222 with two hits in nine at bats
  • Drew a pair of walks to finish with a .364 on base percentage
  • Had back-to-back scoreless outings against St. Bonaventure (2/16 and 2/18) to open the season, giving up just one hit over two innings while striking out three

High School

  • Four-year letterwinner at Xaverian High School
  • Hit .515 with nine home runs, 55 RBI and 34 stolen bases and went 5-1 with a 0.66 ERA and 95 strikeouts as a senior to earn first team all-city accolades
  • Hit .475 with eight home runs, 45 RBI and 30 stolen bases and went 6-1 with a 0.54 ERA and 88 strikeouts during his junior campaign
  • Was a finalist for the USA Junior Olympic team following his junior season
