Duke Advances to 13th ACC Title Game
Top-seeded Duke advanced to its 13th ACC Tournament title game with a 6-5 win over No. 4 seed Maryland ... Duke is now 19-16 all-time in the ACC Tournament and 8-3 as the top seed ... The Blue Devils are 8-2 in the ACC Tournament under current head coach John Danowski ... The Blue Devils are 7-4 against North Carolina in the postseason event ... Duke last defeated UNC in the title match in 2009 in Chapel Hill ... Duke will be looking for its seventh ACC title since the tournament began in 1989.

Duke Stretches Win Streak to Nine Games
For the fourth time under head coach John Danowski, Duke has put together at least a nine-game win streak that spans through the month of April ... Duke won nine straight in 2010, losing to Virginia in the ACC Tournament semifinal to stop the run ... The Blue Devils won 10 straight in 2008 before falling in the national semifinals and were on a 12-game win streak in 2007  heading into the NCAA title game ... The nine-game win stretch is tied for the fourth longest in Duke lacrosse history.

Duke in ACC Title Games
Duke is 6-6 in ACC Tournament title games and 2-2 in championship games as the No. 1 seed ... The Blue Devils and Tar Heels have faced off for the ACC title three times with Duke going 2-1 in those games, including the 2009 championship ... The Blue Devils have failed to advance to Sunday just once under head coach John Danowski.

  • Duke is riding a nine-game win streak and has five wins over ranked opponents in that span
  • Duke is 12-3 overall and finished 2-1 in the ACC to win the ACC regular season title for the ninth time overall and fifth time under head coach John Danowski ... All three losses came on the road against teams ranked in the top 10

North Carolina last defeated the Blue Devils March 10, 2010, 13-7, at Koskinen Stadium ... Duke is 7-4 against the Tar  Heels in the ACC Tournament and 2-1 in ACC Tournament championship games.

Scouting North Carolina
North Carolina defeated No. 2 Virginia 11-9 to earn a spot in the ACC Championship game ... The Tar Heels are 10-4 overall and have won five of the previous six games ... Marcus Holman paces the offense with 53 points from 26 goals and 27 assists, while Joey Sankey and Jimmy Bitter have 35 and 33 points, respectively ... R.G. Head coach John Danowski is 14-3 in rematch games at Duke ... The Blue Devils leader has fared well in second meetings with the Tar Heels, going 6-0 in rematches with North Carolina ... He is 2-0 against Notre Dame, 1-2 vs. Maryland and 5-1 against Virginia.

Last Time Out
Sophomore attackman Josh Dionne registered his seventh hat trick of the season and Dan Wigrizer made two saves in the final 19 seconds to lead Duke to a 6-5 win over Maryland in the ACC Tournament semifinal ... CJ Costabile won 7-of-12 faceoffs, while Michael Manley had four ground balls and two caused turnovers ... Wigrizer finished with 10 saves as the two teams combined for the fewest goals in ACC Tournament history.

With a career-high six points (2g, 4a) against Dartmouth, redshirt senior Justin Turri became the 38th Blue Devil to reach the 100-career point benchmark ... Turri has 63 goals and 46 assists for 109 points ... His 109 points currently rank 32nd and are nine points away from climbing into the top 30.

Wolf Cracks 100 Career Points List
With six points against No. 1 Virginia, Jordan Wolf became the 39th Blue Devil in program history to amass at least 100 career points ... In 35 career games, sophomore Jordan Wolf has amassed 102 career points from 57 goals and 45 assists ... He tallied 51 points in his rookie season and has 51 points through 15 games this season.

Blue Devils Against North Carolina
Twenty current Blue Devils have played in at least one game against North Carolina and 10 own at least one point against the Tar Heels during their careers ... Justin Turri is tops with 11 goals and two assists in six games versus UNC.

Costabile Picking Up Grounders
Senior longstick midfielder CJ Costabile ranks among the nation's top ground ball guys ... Costabile faces off regularly for the Blue Devils and is a key member of the defense ... He currently ranks second among active Division I players in career ground balls with 328 ... His three GBs against Maryland pushed him past Duke goaltender Joe Kirmser's 327 pickups, the most in the past 20 years of Duke lacrosse.

Duke and North Carolina are squaring off in the ACC Tournament for the first time since 2009 when they played each other in the title game ... Redshirt senior Michael Manley has started all 70 games he has played during his career, posting a record of 57-13 in that span ... Manley returned to Duke's close defense this season after missing the 2011 season due to a knee injury ... Manley, a third team All-America choice in 2010, did not play in four games between 2008 and 2010.

Wigrizer Breaks 400 Saves Mark
Junior goaltender Dan Wigrizer broke the 400 career saves mark with 14 stops at Virginia ... He currently ranks third among all junior goalies in career saves with 423 and is 12th overall among active Division I backstops.

Wigrizer Part of Elite Fraternity
Junior Dan Wigrizer is part of a small fraternity of goaltenders who captured NCAA Championships as freshmen between the pipes ... He is one of six freshmen goalies to achieve the feat ... Wigrizer joins Rodney Rullman (Virginia, 1972), Kevin Mahon (Johns Hopkins, 1974), Quint Kessenich (Johns Hopkins, 1987), Derek Kenney (Virginia, 1999) and current Duke volunteer assistant coach John Galloway (Syracuse, 2008) ... Only Galloway went on to win another national title in his career as the Orange captured the 2009 crown ... Wigrizer ranks 11th amongst current Division I goalies in minutes played (2,190) and second amongst junior goaltenders.
