Turri turned in a in a stellar performance with a .657 save percentage and a 6.06 goals against average in a 2-0 week as the Blue Devils outlasted the eighth-ranked Tar Heels and defeated Towson 12-4. Turri, in his third start of the year, made nine stops on 17 shots faced in the win over UNC. He also picked up three ground balls against the Tar Heels.
Three days later, the West Islip, N.Y., native posted a career-high 15 saves on 19 shots faced in a 12-4 win over Towson. He also had five ground balls in the victory over the Tigers. In his three starts this season, Turri is averaging 11 saves per game, owns a 6.67 goals against average, a .623 save percentage and a 3-0 record.
Duke, ranked 13th in the latest poll, returns to action March 23, hosting Georgetown at 1 p.m.
