ATLANTA –Former Duke University men’s lacrosse player Zack Greer captured his second title in two months yesterday when he helped the Denver Outlaws win their first Major League Lacrosse Championship with a 12-11 win over Rochester Rattlers. Greer, a 2008 Duke graduate, also helped guide Team Canada to the FILA World Championship in July.

The Blue Devils were well represented in the title tilt as David Lawson, Michael Manley, Justin Turri and Jordan Wolf suited up for the Rattlers. Lawson led all former Blue Devils with a hat trick, while Turri and Wolf both had a goal and an assist. Manley drew the responsibility of guarding Denver’s John Grant Jr. He held the talented scorer to just one goal through three quarters and finished with a pair of ground balls.

Greer, a two-year member of the Outlaws, played in five games for Denver during the 204 season. He finished the year with four goals and eight assists for 12 points, ranking eighth on the team in scoring.

The Ontario native tallied a goal and an assist in the thrilling 14-13 MLL semifinal win over the New York Lizards. In the title game, Greer picked up a ground ball as the Outlaws won the title in their fifth appearance in the championship game.
