TURKU, FINLAND - Duke University sophomore Kyle Keenan netted four goals and classmate Kyle Turri made three saves to lead the United States to a 24-6 victory over Australia in the first game of the 2012 Federation of Lacrosse U-19 World Championships today in Turku, Finland.

The United States led 9-4 at halftime and outscored Australia 15-2 in the final 40 minutes of the game. Turri came in off the bench at halftime to make three saves.

Keenan first got on the scoreboard 9:25 into the second quarter to put the U.S. team up 7-3. He added three more in the fourth quarter as the red, white and blue cruised to victory. Matthew Kavanagh led all scorers with seven points overall, unofficially.

The United States will face arguably its toughest task next when it takes on Canada tomorrow, July 14, at 12 p.m. (ET).
