BOUNCING BACK
After getting off to a 2-4 start for the first time since 1992, the Blue Devils bounced back with a thrilling 9-8 victory over No. 4 and reigning NCAA Champion Loyola Friday night. Sophomore goaltender Kyle Turri made nine stops as he went the distance for the first time in his career and Duke got six goals and eight points overall from its starting attack, including four points from junior Jordan Wolf. Defensively, the Blue Devils held Loyola to the second fewest goals by a Duke opponent this season and four fewer than the Greyhounds' 12.4 scoring average.  The win was the first for Duke over a ranked opponent in 2013 and put the Blue Devils back on the winning track heading into their matchup with North Carolina.

BACK INTO THE RANKINGS
Following its win over No. 4 Loyola, Duke finds itself back in the polls at No. 17. Duke, unranked for the first time since April of 2004, fell out of the top 20 after falling to 2-4 for the year. The Blue Devils have two ranked opponents left on their schedule after having played five already this season.

IN FRONT OF THE CREASE AND BETWEEN THE PIPES
Sophomore goaltender Kyle Turri earned his first start of 2013 and fourth overall of his career against Loyola. The West Islip, N.Y., native made nine saves on 17 shots on goal and picked up a ground ball to help Duke to the 9-8 victory. The win was Turri's third of his career and, while the eight goals allowed were the fewest by the Blue Devils this season. Playing in front of Turri, the Duke defense held the Greyhounds to just 27 shots, 14 below their average of 41.8 shots per game. The 27 attempts were the second fewest allowed by Duke this season after Mercer managed just 25 shots.

STARTING ATTACK ON TARGET
Duke's starting trio of Josh Dionne, Case Matheis and Jordan Wolf combined for eight of Duke's 13 points in the win over the Greyhounds. All three attackmen had two goals apiece, while Wolf finished with four points. The group scored six goals on 17 shots for a .353 shot percentage. Overall, they scored six goals on seven shots on goal.

TAR HEELS AWAIT BLUE DEVILS
After the Duke men and women's basketball team grabbed wins over North Carolina over the weekend, the Blue Devils men's lacrosse team looks to add another W to that list against the No. 6 Tar Heels Wednesday night on ESPNU. Both squads are coming off of big wins after North Carolina upended Princeton 16-15 with a last-second goal. The Blue Devils are 12-1 against the Tar Heels since 2007 with the lone loss coming in the regular season in 2010. Duke has won five straight over North Carolina heading into the road game.

WALSH MOVES INTO MIDFIELD ROLE
A three-year starter on attack, junior Christian Walsh has moved to a midfield role for the Blue Devils in the past two games. Walsh ran on the second midfield line against Maryland and was on the top line versus Loyola. Case Matheis stepped into a starting role on attack to fill the opening. Walsh actually started his career as a midfielder at Duke, starting two of the first three games in 2011 on the top midfield line. After the Blue Devils fell to Penn 7-3 in 2011, the Baltimore, Md., native moved into a starting attack role with Wolf and has stayed put on attack until the Maryland game this season.
