DURHAM, N.C.—Duke University senior attackman Jordan Wolf was named one of five finalists for the Tewaaraton Award the Tewaaraton Foundation announced Thursday afternoon. The Tewaaraton Award is presented annually to the nation’s top men’s and women’s players.

Five men and five women were selected as finalists and will be invited to Washington, D.C. for the 14th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony on May 29, 2014. Wolf joins Loyola University defenseman Joe Fletcher, Princeton University midfielder Tom Schreiber, University at Albany attackman Lyle Thompson and University at Albany attackman Miles Thompson on the list.

The ACC Offensive Player of the Year, Wolf is the seventh Blue Devil to be named a Tewaaraton Award finalist. He joins Kevin Cassese, Matt Danowski, Zack Greer, Ned Crotty, Max Quinzani and CJ Costabile. Duke’s offensive leader throughout his career, the Wynnewood, Pa., native leads the high-powered Duke offense with 51 goals and 80 points overall. He has registered at least 80 points in each of the past two seasons.

Wolf made Duke history this season, becoming the first Blue Devil to earn All-ACC accolades all four seasons. He is the seventh player in ACC history to do so. Dating back to May of rookie season, the veteran attackman has posted a point in a nation’s-best 57 consecutive games. He leads all Blue Devils with 10 hat tricks and nine five-plus points outings in 2014 and has a goal in 18 straight outings. He is one of three players in Division lacrosse to have registered eight points in a single game at least four times this season.

A captain, Wolf garnered the ACC Player of the Week honor four times in 2014. He posted a career-high eight points on five goals and three assists in Duke’s regular season win against Syracuse. In five regular season ACC outings Wolf posted 18 goals and eight assists for 26 points for a 5.2 points per game average.

With 281 career points from 171 goals and 110 assists, Wolf’s name is peppered throughout the Duke, ACC and NCAA records books. He is third in Duke and ACC history and 16th on the NCAA chart in points and third at Duke, fourth in the ACC and 16th in NCAA history in goals.  Wolf is one of four Blue Devils and 14 ACC lacrosse players to record 100 career goals and assists in their careers.

For his career, Wolf has played in 77 career games and helped the Blue Devils to a 58-19 record over those four seasons. He has led Duke in scoring in the past three seasons and has two single-season goals and points totals that rank among the top 10 in the school records book.

Duke, seeded No. 1 overall, opens NCAA Tournament play with Air Force Sunday, May 11 at 5:15 p.m. The game will be televised live by ESPNU. Tickets are available for $8 and $5 on GoDuke.com.
