BALTIMORE – Duke held its final practice Friday afternoon in advance of the NCAA semifinal matchup with Denver Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils and Pioneers meet May 24 at 1 p.m., at M&T Bank for an opportunity to play for a NCAA title Monday.
The Blue Devils were all smiles this afternoon as they spent an hour throwing the ball around and wrapping up the final touches for Saturday’s semifinal matchup with the Pioneers. Prior to getting on the field a selection of Duke players sat down and talked Duke lacrosse with the ESPN announcers Eamon McAnany, Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra and recorded pieces on camera that fans will see at home.
Westwood One was also in attendance to talk to the players about getting ready for Denver and the excitement of being back at championship weekend for what would be the fourth time for some. Duke wrapped up the busy day with a quick autograph session at the Inner Harbor with lacrosse fans.
Duke will take the field against Denver tomorrow in search of its fifth appearance in the NCAA title game. Faceoff set for 1 p.m., on ESPN2.
