Former Blue Devils Gear Up for MLL Playoffs

DURHAM, N.C. – Nine former Blue Devils competed in the 2014 Major League Lacrosse season this summer, with five of the nine Duke alumni continuing their seasons into the playoffs. Dave Lawson, Michael Manley, Justin Turri and Jordan Wolf were all key contributors in helping the Rochester Rattlers earn the regular season title with a 10-4 record, while Ned Crotty led the New York Lizards to a record of 9-5. Here is a look at how each player performed during the 2014 regular season.

Ned Crotty – New York
• Had 18 goals and seven assists for 25 points in 12 games this season
• Tied for second on the team in assists and ranks fourth in goals and points
• Helped lead the Lizards to the playoffs with a 9-5 record

Dave Lawson – Rochester
• Produced 23 goals and nine assists for 32 points in 12 games this season
• Ranked second on the team in goals, third in points and fourth in assists
• Led the team with three game-winning goals
• Helped guide Rochester to a regular season championship with a 10-4 record

Michael Manley – Rochester
• Recorded 37 ground balls in 14 games, ranking fifth on the squad
• Contributed six goals, including two two-point goals, and one assist for a career-high nine points
• One of four Rattlers selected to the MLL All-Star team
• Also scored one game-winning goal during the season
• Helped the Rattlers clinch a regular season championship with a 10-4 record

Justin Turri – Rochester
• Scored 19 goals, including two two-point goals, and added 13 assists for 34 points in 14 games
• Ranked first on the squad in points and assists and tied for first in games played and two-point goals
• Joined Manley as one of four Rattlers voted to the MLL All-Star team
• Tied for fifth in the MLL in two-point goals
• Helped lead Rochester to a 10-4 record and secure the regular season championship

Jordan Wolf – Rochester
• Had 21 goals and 12 assists for 33 points in just seven games during his rookie season
• Ranked second on the squad in assists and points and third in goals
• Ranked second among all MLL rookies in points
• Guided the Rattlers to a regular season championship with a 10-4 record

Matt Danowski – Charlotte
• Produced 24 goals, including two two-point goals, and five assists for 31 points in 12 games
• Tied for first on the team in goals, ranked second in points and tied for third in assists

Brendan Fowler – Charlotte
• Grabbed 20 ground balls and added one assist in six games during his rookie season
• Won 49 of 114 faceoffs (42.9) in his first year at the X
• Had an assist in his second career game

Henry Lobb – Charlotte
• Recorded 13 ground balls in nine games during his rookie season

Jake Tripucka – Charlotte
• Produced 11 goals and six assists for 17 points in 14 games this season
• Ranked second on the squad in assists
