DURHAM, N.C. – The 14th-ranked Blue Devils (16-5, 8-1 ACC) conclude regular season action this weekend, traveling to No. 25 Wake Forest Friday, Apr. 18 before hosting No. 8 North Carolina for Senior Day at Ambler Tennis Stadium Sunday, Apr. 20.

Wake Forest Series History
Duke and the Demon Deacons will meet for the 98th time in school history Friday in Winston-Salem … The Blue Devils lead the series, 82-15, and have won six of the last seven contests between the two teams.

Last Time We Met
Duke jumped out to a 3-0 advantage but was unable to hold off Wake Forest, falling by a 4-3 score in the semifinals of the 2013 ACC Championship Apr. 27, 2013 in Cary, N.C. … The second-seeded Blue Devils captured the doubles point and collected two early victories in singles but a late rally by the third-seeded Demon Deacons ended Duke’s run in the tournament … The duo of Henrique Cunha and Raphael Hemmeler secured the doubles point with a 9-7 win at the No. 1 position … Cunha and Jason Tahir earned the lone singles victories for the Blue Devils.

Scouting the Demon Deacons
Listed 25th in the latest ITA Division I national team rankings, Wake Forest is 14-10 overall and 3-6 in conference play heading into the weekend … The squad is coming off of a pair of losses to Virginia Tech and Virginia on the road last weekend … No. 35 Romain Bogaerts leads the way for the Demon Deacons with a 13-8 ledger at the top spot in the lineup … Adam Lee (No. 71) and Maksim Kan (No. 114) are also ranked nationally in singles … Lee and Pedro Dumont form the 46th-ranked doubles tandem in the nation and own a 5-4 record at the No. 1 spot … Dumont is also ranked 57th with Jonathan Ho.

North Carolina Series History
The Blue Devils are 39-84 all-time against their Tobacco Road rivals … Duke has won the last three meetings with the Tar Heels.

Last Time We Met
Duke secured a spot in the 2014 ITA National Team Indoor Championships with a 4-2 victory over North Carolina earlier this season during ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Durham … The Blue Devils rallied after dropping the doubles point to claim four singles wins in the Kick-Off Weekend championship match … Junior Raphael Hemmeler, junior Jason Tahir and sophomore Bruno Semenzato each tallied wins before senior Fred Saba clinched the decision from the No. 2 position with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of the Tar Heels’ Ronnie Schneider.

Scouting the Tar Heels
North Carolina has climbed to No. 8 in the national team rankings and sits at 22-3 overall and 9-1 in ACC competition entering Sunday’s regular season finale in Durham … Last weekend’s action saw the squad top Georgia Tech (7-0) and Clemson (6-1) at home in Chapel Hill … Tenth-ranked Brayden Schnur is 15-1 at the No. 1 singles position and 5-2 in conference matches … No. 30 Ronnie Schneider is 12-2 at the No. 2 slot while No. 63 Brett Clark has compiled a 10-5 record in the No. 3 spot … Schnur and Clark are 12-4 as a doubles pair and were listed 32nd in this week’s national rankings.

Scouting the Blue Devils
Duke (16-5, 8-1 ACC) has won six consecutive matches in conference play and was tabbed 14th in the latest ITA team poll … The squad topped No. 20 Clemson last Friday before dispatching No. 72 Georgia Tech Sunday to extend its win streak to six consecutive contests … Junior Jason Tahir is 6-3 since moving to the top spot in the lineup and is ranked 36th in this week’s ITA poll … No. 46 Fred Saba has gone 10-2 at the No. 2 position while No. 86 Bruno Semenzato is 14-2 in the No. 4 spot … Saba and junior Raphael Hemmeler combine to form the nation’s 69th-ranked doubles tandem and are 12-4 for the season … Hemmeler is also ranked 87th with Semenzato.

Senior Day for Saba
Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native Fred Saba will be honored prior to Sunday’s match against North Carolina for his four years of hard work and dedication to the Duke program … Saba reached the 100-win milestone for his career last weekend against Georgia Tech, becoming the 12th player in program history to amass 100 singles victories … He currently owns career records of 100-46 in singles and 87-49 in doubles and ranks second all-time with 33 ACC singles wins.

Duke Looking to Extend Win Streak
The Blue Devils have gained momentum as the ACC season has progressed, collecting victories in each of their past six matches … The win streak began with a 4-3 upset of then-No. 9 Notre Dame on the road March 28 and has included victories over Boston College, Miami, Florida State, Clemson and Georgia Tech in that time … Four of those wins have been 7-0 sweeps while the squad has also claimed the doubles point in five of those contests.
