2013-14: Carried over strong freshman season into sophomore campaign, breaking Duke’s 800m record, placing sixth at the Armory Collegiate Invitational (2/8) in a time of 1:50.24…opened the season with an 800m win at the Dick Taylor Challenge (1/24) after clocking a converted time of 1:50.51…anchored the winning 4x800 at the Millrose Games (2/15), with the relay’s time of 7:30.06 ranking fourth on Duke’s all-time list…season cut short due to injury…did not compete during the 2014 outdoor season.
2012-13: In his rookie year, proved to be one of Duke’s top middle distance specialists…indoors, ran a season-best time of 1:52.78 in the 800 to finish fourth at the Virginia Tech Elite, February 8…finished 23rd at his first ACC Indoor Championships by running a time of 1:55.01…also competed in the men’s 500 with a season-best time of 1:03.81 to finish seventh in the field and rank second on Duke’s all-time list in the event…anchored the men’s school record breaking 4x800 relay that finished second at the Millrose Games (Feb. 16) with a combined time of 7:26.88...ran the 400 leg in the men’s distance medley relay that ran a total time of 9:41.40 at the Alex Wilson Invitational to rank third on Duke’s all-time list…Outdoors, ran the top Blue Devil time of the season in the 800 by winning the Duke Invitational in 1:49.74…NCAA East First Round qualifier in the event…finished fifth overall at the ACC Outdoor Championships by clocking a 1:49.95…member of the ACC Championship third place finishing 4x400 relay team that broke the school record with a total time of 3:12.78…also member of the 4x800 relay team that clocked a 7:20.97 to finish fourth at the Penn Relays and set a new school record…served as anchor to the sprint medley squad that finished 18th at the Penn Relays with a combined time of 3:25.73.
Prior to Duke: Three year letterwinner in track and field at Maine Township High School South, Park Ridge...prep career highlighted by winning the 2012 AAA 800 meter Illinois state championship race...runner-up in 2011 AAA 800 meter Illinois state championship...state qualifier in the 4x400m relay...two-time sectional 800 meter champion (2011,2012)...two-time 4x400 meter relay champion (2011,2012)...garnered Central Suburban League All-Conference honors (2010, 2011, 2012)...lettered one season in cross country...named 2012 Scholar Athlete of the Year.
