MADISON, N.J. – Becca Ward won the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals for the third straight year and was one of nine Blue Devils to notch top-10 finishes at the event, which serves as a qualifier for the NCAA Fencing Championships.
Ward, a junior, won the women’s saber division, while senior Dorian Cohen took third in men’s foil, freshman Dylan Nollner took third in men’s epee and sophomore All-America Emily D’Agostino took fourth in women’s epee.
It was the third straight Regional Championship for Ward, who finished as the NCAA Women’s Saber runner-up in 2010 and won the Championship in 2009. Cohen, meanwhile, notched the best Atlantic/South Regional finish of his career along with his fourth straight top-10 finish. D’Agostino notched a second straight top-10 finish and will look to garner All-America honors for the second straight year.
Also notching top-10 finishes at the event were sophomore Anthony Lin (6th, men’s saber), freshman Matthew Budofsky (9th, men’s foil), junior Jonathan Parker (10th, men’s epee), sophomore Sean Cadley (10th, women’s saber) and freshman Mary Tung (8th, women’s epee).
Those nine Blue Devils are now eligible for the NCAA Fencing Championships and will await the seeding announcements scheduled for Tuesday, March 15.
