DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke fencing team returns to the strip this Saturday at the Philadelphia Invitational in the Temple Student Pavilion at Temple University.

The Duke men, ranked No. 9 in the CollegeFencing360.com Coaches Poll, will face No. 8 Penn, NJIT, Cornell, Sacred Heart, Haverford and Johns Hopkins. The Duke women, ranked No. 11 in the coaches poll, take on Sacred Heart, NJIT, No. 10 Penn, North Carolina, Johns Hopkins and Drew. The six-round, round-robin tournament runs from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

While the Blue Devils have not competed as a team since the season-opening Penn State Duals on Jan. 12, Duke has had success at the Philadelphia Invitational in the last two trips with the women posting a 9-1 record and the men 8-3 since the 2011 edition.

The Penn State Duals are the only dual meet the Blue Devils have competed in this season. The Blue Devil men went 2-2 that day, while the women turned in a 2-3 record that included a pair of one-point losses to No. 3 Columbia and No. 10 Penn.

Leading the Blue Devil men are epees Dylan Nollner (3-3) and Alessio Santoro (10-2), foils Chris Sullivan (8-4) and Rod Shayesteh (6-6), and sabers Anthony Lin (6-3) and Charles Copti (9-2). The epees enter the weekend with a 3-1 record, while the sabers are a perfect 4-0.

On the women's side, senior epee and two-time All-America Emily D'Agostino is coming off of a 14-1 showing at the Penn State Duals that propelled the women's epees to a flawless 5-0 record. All three women's epees came away with double-digit victories at Penn State, including freshman Isabella Barna (13-2) and sophomore Sarah Collins (10-5). Senior Sean Cadley (14-1) and junior Kodia Baye-Cigna (11-4)  carried the sabers to a 3-2 record on opening weekend as well.
