DURHAM, N.C. - Junior attackman Jordan Wolf scored four goals for the second straight day to lead sixth-ranked Duke University to a 21-9 victory over visiting Jacksonville University in men's lacrosse action Sunday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, N.C.

The Blue Devils improve to 1-1 on the year while the Dolphins fall to 0-1. Duke got assists from 11 different players, while six players notched their first career goals as Blue Devils.

Wolf added one assist on the day to push his two-game season totals to 12 points on eight goals and four assists.  Josh Dionne, Will Haus and Jake Tripucka tallied two goals apiece as a total of 15 Blue Devils found the back of the net.

"We had 15 different guys score and I don't think that for as long as I've been doing this I've had 15 different players score," said head coach John Danowski. We always want to play as a team and that's a great example of team play. Overall I'm very pleased with how the guys came out and played hard today. Guys were unselfish and making the extra pass and people were finishing the ball today."

The Dolphins jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than one minute into the contest, but Duke responded with five consecutive markers to claim a 5-1 lead on a Greg DeLuca tally at the 7:57 mark of the opening period.  The Blue Devils went on to lead by a 7-3 margin after 15 minutes of action. Six different Duke players notched a goal in the opening stanza.

Duke enjoyed a run of 10 unanswered goals,  including three by Wolf, over the final five minutes of the second quarter and into the first 10 minutes of third period.  The burst was capped by sophomore Tanner Scott's first career score, which increased the Duke advantage to 19-5 with 4:10 left in the third quarter.

Freshman Case Matheis and senior Josh Offit both  distributed a pair of assists. Matheis also chipped in his first career goal as a Blue Devil for a career-best three points. Joining Matheis and Scott on the first career goals list were freshmen Deemer Class, Seamus Connelly, Myles Jones and John Shaffer.

Duke utilized four goalkeepers - starter Dan Wigrizer (3 saves in 30:00), Kyle Turri (5 saves in 16:55), Ben Krebs (3 saves in 7:53) and Luke Aaron (1 save in 5:12).  Brendan Fowler received the majority of the work at the face-off X, securing 12 draws in 21 attempts to go along with a game-high eight ground balls.

Jacksonville was led by TJ Kenary, who posted three goals and two assists.  Dolphin keeper Brendan Niklason carded five saves in 37:21 of action between the pipes.

The Blue Devils picked up 43 ground balls to Jacksonville's 33 and held a 42-38 advantage in shots. Both squads registered a pair of man-up goals.

Duke continues its home schedule Feb. 16 against preseason No. 3 Notre Dame at 1 p.m.
