The Blue Devils will take on reigning national champion and third-ranked Princeton Friday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. before facing Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J., Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.

Princeton Series History
Friday’s contest marks the seventh all-time meeting between Duke and Princeton with the Tigers holding a 4-2 advantage in the series … The two teams squared off in Durham last fall, with Princeton notching a 5-2 win in a battle of top-five squads … The Blue Devils own an all-time record of 1-2 when facing Princeton on the road.

Duke vs. The Ivy League
The Blue Devils are 11-4 all-time against teams from The Ivy League … Princeton was the only Ivy League team Duke faced during the 2012 campaign.

Scouting the Tigers
Princeton opens its 2013 slate against the Blue Devils Friday night in Princeton, N.J. … Ranked No. 3 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I preseason poll, the Tigers are coming off of a historic season which saw the program capture its 21st Ivy League title and first national championship crown … Princeton will be without 2012 Ivy League Player of the Year Kathleen Sharkey, who graduated last May … Sharkey led the nation in scoring last fall and established school records in career goals (107) and points (245) … A total of five players earned All-America accolades last season, including 2013 graduates Sharkey, Julia Reinprecht and Katie Reinprecht and returners Michelle Cesan and Christina Maida.

Rutgers Series History
Duke and Rutgers will meet for just the third time in program history Sunday, Sept. 8 … The Scarlet Knights lead the all-time series 1-0-1 … The two teams have not met since 1989, when Rutgers claimed a 2-1 victory in overtime.

Last Time Out
Tenth-ranked Duke opened the season in Durham for the first time since 2009, hosting Indiana and No. 17 Drexel at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium last weekend … Behind solid defensive play, the Blue Devils posted a 4-0 shutout against the Hoosiers Friday, Aug. 30 … The squad’s four goals were the most in a season opener since 2005 … Freshman Heather Morris posted a hat trick in her only second collegiate game to lead Duke to a 4-1 win over the 17th-ranked Dragons Sunday, Sept. 1.

Le Marchand Approaching Century Mark
With five points this season on two goals and one assist, senior forward Emmie Le Marchand owns 96 career points heading into this weekend’s contests … She stands to become the 11th player in program history to reach the 100-point mark for her career … A product of Worcester, England, Le Marchand currently ranks 11th in program history with 40 career goals.
