DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, sat down with senior Brenna Rescigno to learn more about the Monmouth Beach, N.J., native. What are your three favorite things about being a student-athlete at Duke?
Brenna Rescigno: Being a part of the Duke field hockey program – it’s one of the best in the country so I’m glad I was given the opportunity to play here. Being able to get a great academic experience and a great education. And also being a part of a Duke athletics family that is so unified. What is your favorite “on the field” memory?
BR: My favorite on the field memory is playing UNC earlier this season. It couldn’t have been any better of a game. It’s the biggest rivalry for us and it was in Chapel Hill and ended in a shootout. It was a great experience. What is your favorite “off the field” memory?
BR: Last year when Duke football beat UNC and then we got to rush the field. That was really exciting. What are three foods you can’t live without?
BR: Scallops, scrambled eggs and mint chocolate ice cream. What are three things you would do on a day off with no class and no practice?
BR: Go to the movies, get a manicure and probably go to NOSH. What are three things you would like to do in the next 10 years?
BR: I’d like to travel to Belgium to go to the Tomorrowland festival. I’d like to swim with dolphins in Hawaii. And I’d like to go ice skating in the Rockefeller Plaza in New York. Describe head coach Pam Bustin in three words.
BR: Driven, committed and has a lot of heart.
