DURHAM, N.C. – Fourth-ranked Duke (2-0) enters its second week of action following wins over No. 16 Michigan State and Central Michigan last weekend in East Lansing, Mich. … The Blue Devils welcome seventh-ranked Princeton in the home opener Friday, Sept. 5 at 4:30 p.m. before hosting Temple Sunday, Sept. 7 at 12 p.m. … Both contests will be streamed live on Blue Devil Network Plus.

8 – Different Blue Devils have registered a point so far in 2014, led by senior Jessica Buttinger and freshman Ainsley Gill with four each, respectively

Princeton Series History
Friday’s home opener marks the eighth all-time meeting between Duke and the Tigers … Princeton leads the series, 5-2, and has won the last two meetings in 2013 and 2012 … In a showdown of top-10 teams last year in Princeton, the Blue Devils fell by a 3-1 score.

Scouting the Tigers
After posting a 14-5 record in 2013, Princeton enters the fall ranked seventh in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Preseason Coaches Poll … The Tigers collected their 22nd Ivy League title  and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Maryland … The squad returns three of its top five scorers from last season, including senior Allison Evans, who was a second team All-Ivy selection in 2013 … 2013 Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Year Annabeth Donovan returns to the backfield ... The Princeton defense led the Ivy League with a 1.76 goals against average last fall while the attack led the conference in goals (61) ... The Tigers open their 2014 campaign Friday afternoon in Durham.

Temple Series History
Duke and the Owls will square off for the 10th time overall Sunday … The Blue Devils lead the all-time series, 8-1, and have won the last seven contests ... In a 2-1 victory over Temple Aug. 26, 2012, Jessica Buttinger tallied the gamewinner on an assist from Martine Chichizola.

Scouting the Owls
Temple started the season 2-0 with a pair of victories over Northeastern and Massachusetts last weekend ... The Owls earned a 2-0 shutout against 10th-ranked UMass Sunday, Aug. 31 ... Senior goalkeeper Lizzy Millen was tabbed the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after recording five saves and a .833 save percentage in the opening weekend of play ... Senior forward Amber Youtz was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her three-goal performance on the weekend ... Temple averaged 3.00 goals and 19.0 shots per contest in its first two outings ... The squad travels to Rutgers Friday night before making the trip to Durham Sunday.

Scouting the Blue Devils
Fourth-ranked Duke (2-0) posted wins over No. 16 Michigan State and Central Michigan last weekend to start the season 2-0 for the second consecutive year ... The Blue Devils are averaging 3.00 goals and 23.5 shots per game entering their opening weekend at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium ... Senior Jessica Buttinger and freshman Ainsley Gill pace the squad with two goals each while senior Abby Beltrani and Aileen Johnson have logged two assists each so far ... In goal, redshirt junior and returning third team All-American Lauren Blazing paces the ACC with 11 saves and is second in save percentage at .846 ... As a team, Duke leads the league in goals against average (1.16).

Last Time Out
The Blue Devils kicked off the 2014 season with a 2-1 overtime victory at No. 16 Michigan State Aug. 29 ... The attack was led by a pair of freshmen, with Ainsley Gill notching the first score of the season and Alexa Mackintire converting in the final second of the first overtime period to send Duke to a win ... Gill scored again in a 4-1 neutral site victory over Central Michigan Aug. 31 ... Senior forward Jessica Buttinger also added a pair of goals for the second multi-goal game of her career ... Defensively,  the Blue Devils limited their opponents to just 21 shots and two goals in the first two contests.

Against Ranked Opponents
Since the 2011 season, Duke is 21-23 against ranked teams ... The Blue Devils went 10-7 against ranked opponents last fall and opened the 2014 campaign with a 2-1 overtime win over No. 16 Michigan State.

In Overtime
Duke owns an all-time record of 34-41-7 in overtime contests ... The Blue Devils opened the season with a 2-1 overtime victory at Michigan State Aug. 29 ... Freshman Alexa Mackintire tallied the gamewinner in the final second of the first overtime period in that contest.

Welcome to Duke
The Blue Devils’ class of 2018 is comprised of seven freshmen from four different states and Canada and includes Alyssa Chillano, Sarah Furey, Ainsley Gill, Ashley Kristen, Alexa Mackintire, Meghan Norair and Stephanie Pezzuti ... Four of the freshmen earned spots on USA Field Hockey’s Junior Women’s National Squads for 2014-15, as Chillano and Mackintire were selected to the Under-21 team and Furey and Gill to the Under-19 squad.

LED Lighting Coming to Williams Field
Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium will become the first NCAA Division I outdoor college sports venue to be lit with LED lighting, as announced in early July ... The facility on Duke’s East Campus was built in 1996 and renovated in 2011 and will host the 2014 ACC Field Hockey Championship in November ... Installation of the LED lighting is slated for mid-September.

Bustin Inducted into USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame
Duke head coach Pam Bustin was among the first group to be inducted into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame in nearly a decade, receiving the honor in late June ... The team captain of the United States Under-21 team from 1987-89, Bustin competed in four U.S. Olympic Festivals and went on to represent the U.S. at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta ... She has remained involved with the national team since joining the coaching ranks, serving as an assistant for Team USA at the 2008 Beijing Olympics ... Bustin has revitalized the Duke program in her four seasons, guiding the team to the NCAA title match in 2013 and the quarterfinals in 2011 ... An All-America and All-Atlantic 10 honoree during her collegiate playing career at Massachusetts, she was inducted into the UMass Hall of Fame in 2012.

Blazing, Fee Tabbed to Team USA
Duke boasts a pair of athletes on the 2014-15 U.S. women’s national field hockey team, as announced in late June ... Current Blue Devil goalkeeper Lauren Blazing and former defender Stefanie Fee were among the 30 players named to the national team roster ... A 2012 graduate of Duke, Fee recently helped the U.S. squad earn a fourth-place finish at the 2014 Rabobank Hockey World Cup in The Netherlands.
