DURHAM, N.C. – Duke junior defender Rhian Jones has been named to the 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America team as announced by the organization Monday, Nov. 21. Jones earned a nod on the second team after garnering third team accolades following the 2009 season.

A native of Havertown, Pa., Jones was instrumental to a Blue Devil defense that allowed opponents an average of 1.36 goals per game in 2010. She started every game on the Duke backline this past year, while also chipping in a goal and two assists. The Duke junior also earned All-South Region and All-ACC honors for her efforts.

With the honor, Jones becomes just the ninth Duke field hockey student-athlete to earn multiple All-America accolades in her career, joining Melissa Panasci, Courtney Sommer, Katie Grant, Nicole Dudek, Hilary Linton, Laura Suckoski, Marian Dickinson and Lauren Miller in that distinction.

The Blue Devils finished the 2010 season with an 8-11 overall record (0-5 ACC), falling by a narrow, one-goal margin to third-ranked Virginia in the ACC Tournament to close out the year.
