MÖNCHENGLADBACH, GERMANY – Three members of the Duke field hockey team were in action on the second day of pool play at the 2013 ERGO Hockey Junior World Cup Sunday, July 28.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Blazing and sophomore midfielder Aileen Johnson represented Duke on the U.S. squad, which fell to the Netherlands by a score of 5-1. Team USA won its first game Saturday, a 4-1 victory over Korea, and currently sits third in the Pool A standings behind the Netherlands and Korea.

Fellow Blue Devil Jessica Buttinger and the Canadian squad suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to China to drop to 0-2 in the tournament.

Team Canada resumes play Tuesday, July 30 against South Africa while the U.S. rounds out pool play with a contest against Ghana.
