Duke vs. the ACC
The Blue Devils are 80-167-4 all-time against teams in their own conference … The squad kicked off ACC play Sept. 27 with a thrilling 3-2 overtime shootout victory over previously top-ranked and unbeaten North Carolina before topping Wake Forest (3-1) and falling to Syracuse (2-1, 2OT) and Virginia (4-3).

Scouting the Eagles
Seventh-ranked Boston College is 12-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play heading into Saturday’s matchup … The squad is coming off of a 5-2 win over Harvard Wednesday evening in Newton … The Eagles lead the ACC in saves (102) and saves per game (6.38) and rank second in defensive saves, averaging 0.25 per outing … Midfielder Emma Plasteras has tallied 2.06 points per game to rank fourth in the conference … Plasteras is also tied for fourth in the ACC with 11 goals on the season and has totaled 11 assists as well to pace Boston College offensively with 33 points … Leah Settipane has started all 16 contests in goal, registering a 1.79 goals against average and a .772 save percentage.

Boston University Series History

Last Time Out
Duke (11-4, 2-2 ACC) split two contests last weekend … The Blue Devils rallied from a 4-1 deficit on the road against ACC opponent Virginia but came up just short in a 4-3 loss Oct. 18 … The team returned home Oct. 20 with sophomore Amanda Kim and junior Jessica Buttinger scoring a pair of second-half goals in a shutout of then-No. 13 Stanford.

Blazing Among Nation’s Top Goalkeepers
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper and Durham, N.C., product Lauren Blazing ranks fifth among all Division I goalkeepers in save percentage with an .818 clip through 15 games … She has compiled a 1.23 goals against average in addition to guiding the defense to four shutouts … The Durham, N.C., native was named the ACC Player of the Week and the Ronald McDonald House Charities Duke Student-Athlete of the Week following a career-high 22-save performance in a 3-2 shootout win over previously top-ranked and unbeaten North Carolina Sept. 27.

Heimbach Anchors Back Line
Senior defender Paula Heimbach continues to be one of the Blue Devils’ most dependable backs in 2013 … An All-ACC honoree and Longstreth/NFHCA third team All-America selection last fall, Heimbach was tabbed to the Preseason All-ACC squad last month by a vote of the league’s seven head coaches … She tallied the Blue Devils’ first defensive save of the year against Syracuse Oct. 11 … Heimbach and the Duke defense own four shutouts on the year and currently allow just 1.30 goals per game.
