THE HAGUE, Netherlands – Just two days after knocking off third-seeded England to open the 2014 Rabobank Hockey World Cup, the United States’ women’s national field hockey team played to a 2-2 draw against 2010 World Cup champion Argentina Tuesday, June 3 at Greenfields Stadium.

The U.S. squad went up by a 1-0 score in the 27th minute before Argentina responded five minutes later to bring the score to 1-1 at halftime. In a rain-soaked second half, Argentina added another score late in the period but Team USA got the equalizer with just nine minutes remaining to secure a 2-2 draw.

“From our point of view there was a good flow to the game,” said U.S. women’s head coach Craig Parnham. “Going against the world champions, our forward line managed well. Although we're disappointed with the called-back goal in the first half, the overall assessment was pleasing."

Former Duke defender Stefanie Fee and Team USA continue pool play Friday, June 6 at 4:30 a.m. EST against seventh-ranked China. The match will be streamed live on ESPN3.
