DURHAM, N.C. - Thirty members of the Duke rowing team and the coaching staff volunteered at Habitat For Humanity last Saturday in an effort to restore a playground located in a local green community of 31 homes.
The work included cleaning and repairing the playground. Specifically, the Blue Devils cleared brush, rock and dirt piles and mended fences around the play area.
The Duke rowing team opens its 2010 season next Saturday, March 13, against Buffalo in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
