BAHAMA, N.C. -- The Duke rowing team won four of five races in a small boat scrimmage against Tennessee Sunday afternoon on Lake Michie.
On a chilly, but sunny Sunday morning, Duke raced Tennessee in the A pairs, B fours, novice sixes, A fours and B pairs and won all but the novice sixes. Each of Duke's athletes alternated between rowing fours and pairs over the 4,500-meter course.
"This was a great opportunity for us to get in small boats and compete against a strong program like Tennessee," head coach Robyn Horner said. "It also gave the coaching staff an opportunity to see our own athletes compete with each other in a race situation."
Next up for Duke is the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J. next Sunday, Oct. 27.
