DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke rowing team will make the cross country trek to Lowell, Ore., this Saturday to square off against a gauntlet of top-20 teams on Dexter Lake.

The Blue Devils, who were ranked No. 20 in the first CRCA/US Rowing coaches Poll of the season but fell out after not competing this past weekend, will take boats from No. 2 Ohio State, No. 9 Michigan, No. 11 Stanford and No. 20 Oregon State in six races Saturday.

The morning session will see Duke deploy boats in the varsity four (9:15 a.m.), second varsity eight (9:45 a.m.) and varsity eight (10:15 a.m.), while the afternoon will see the Blue Devils push off in the varsity four (2:15 p.m.), second varsity eight (2:30 p.m.) and varsity eight (2:45 p.m.). The morning will be a dual format with Duke facing Oregon State in all three races, while the afternoon session will use all five lanes as Duke lines up against its top-20 counterparts.

The Blue Devils have had two weeks to prepare for the Oregon State Classic following a regatta against Clemson, Indiana and Purdue on March 22 in Clemson, S.C. The Blue Devils notched three top-five finishes in six races that weekend, including second place in the varsity eight behind only No. 15 Clemson. The performance was enough to vault Duke into the CRCA/US Rowing Top 20 in the first edition of the poll.

Complete results and lineups will be available at following the completion of Saturday’s racing in Lowell. Duke will get a short break following the Oregon State Classic with just one week to prepare for the UVa Invite in Charlottesville, Va., against a field of competitors that includes No. 3 Virginia.
