Blue Devils Close Out World Series Competition

GUANAJUATO, Mexico- Duke's Abby Johnston and Nick McCrory finished the Diving World Series on Saturday, April 23, in Guanajuato, Mexico.

The final two legs of the competition began last week in Sheffield, Great Britain. There McCrory took fourth in the second semi-final with a total of 444.80 in the men's 10-meter competition. McCrory and diving partner David Boudia also took fifth in the 10-meter synchronized finals with a score of 424.83. Johnston rounded out a fourth place finish as well in the semi-final of the women's three-meter springboard competition with a score of 303.20.

In the last week on the Series, Johnston took fourth in the grand final in Mexico. Tabbing a total of 327.75 in the three-meter. Johnston also paired with Kassidy Cook in the three-meter synchronized competition. The duo captured fifth in the final with score of 286.20.

Next the pair will travel to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to compete in the 2011 USA Diving Grand Prix May 5-8. The two qualified for competition in early January at the USA Diving Championships in Columbus, Ohio.
