DURHAM, N.C. - Duke diver Abby Johnston has been named to the United States Olympic Committee's Team of the Month for May, 2011.

Johnston and her teammate, Christina Loukas, won the gold medal in the synchronized 3-meter competition at the AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., back on May 8 in their first international meet as partners.  It marked the first gold medal for the United States in women's synchronized 3-meter competition since 2006.

The Johnston-Loukas pair were voted as the top unit for the month by a panel, with online fan voting via Twitter accounting for 10 percent of the total vote.  The U.S. Men's Recurve Team (Archery) finished second in the balloting while the U.S. Gymnastics squad was third.
