DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Less than a month after securing a spot for the United States in the men's 10-meter synchronized diving event at the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games in London, Nick McCrory and David Boudia of Purdue took to the platform again Friday in the FINA Diving World Series.

Friday marked the opening day of competition at the FINA/Midea World Diving Series in Dubai, with McCrory and Boudia placing sixth overall in the men's 10-meter synchro event. McCrory and Boudia earned a total score of 408.51 on their list of dives, finishing just 4.11 points out of third place. Yuan Cao and Yanquan Zhang of China took the gold with a score of 474.36, while Ukraine's Oleksandr Gorshkovozov and Oleksandr Bondar finished second (430.08) and Russia's Illya Zakharov and Victor Minibaev came in third (412.62).

Both McCrory and Boudia are slated to compete in Saturday's individual 10-meter event.
