Reid, a native of Long Beach, Calif., earned a score of 300.90 in the preliminary round of the men's 3-meter springboard competition to move on to the event finals. In the final round, Reid totaled 315.30 points on his list of six dives, including 63.00 points on a back 1 ½ somersault 2 ½ twist free, to finish fourth overall. With the fourth-place performance, Reid qualified for the AT&T Diving National Championships Aug. 14-19 in Greensboro, N.C.
Reid also competed in the 1-meter competition at the Zone D Championships, placing eighth in the event final with a score of 272.95.
A three-time state champion at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Reid is also a four-time league champion in diving and was named the Long Beach Press Telegram's Athlete of the Year each of his four years.
