DURHAM, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) released its 2012 All-ACC Women’s Golf team on Monday with Duke University junior Lindy Duncan capturing ACC Player  of the Year accolades, while head coach Dan Brooks was selected the ACC Coach of the Year for the 12th time by a vote of the league’s nine head coaches.

Blue Devil sophomore Laetitia Beck was also selected to the 12-member All-ACC team for the second straight year.

Duncan became just the third ACC golfer in league history to win the ACC Player of the Year award on at least three occasions -- Jenny Chuasiriporn (1997, 1998, 1999) and Amanda Blumenherst (2006-09) -- both former Duke golfers.  A Blue Devil golfer has been named ACC Player of the Year 15 times over the last 16 years.

Both Duncan and Beck were also named to the All-ACC squad.  It marks the 13th straight year the Blue Devils have registered two or more golfers on the All-ACC team.

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Duncan is currently the top-ranked golfer in the nation and was the 2012 ACC Individual Champion at the ACC Championship with rounds of 70, 69 and 71 for a total of 210.  She has led the league with a 70.71 stroke average and if the season concluded today, Duncan’s stroke average would set a new Duke single-season record.  Duncan owns four victories and eight top 10 placements in eight tournaments.  She is coming off winning back-to-back tournaments.

Duncan owns 17 rounds of even or under par on the year and has registered a 69.00 stroke average in the final rounds, which would also be a new school record.  She has now been named to the All-ACC squad each of her three years with the Blue Devils.

Brooks received the ACC Coach of the Year award for the first time since 2007, after leading the Blue Devils to two victories this season, including Duke’s first ACC Championship since 2008.  The Blue Devils also won the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate and tied for first at the Bryan National Collegiate before falling in a playoff.  He owns 112 career victories over his 28 years at Duke, which is a NCAA Division I record.

Overall, Brooks has led the Blue Devils to 16 ACC titles.

Beck, who is out of Caesarea, Israel, has registered a 74.21 stroke average on the season, which ranks second on the Duke team and ninth in the ACC.  She has notched three top 10 and five top 20 finishes on the year.

Ranked 49th in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, Beck recently finished ninth in the ACC Championship with rounds of 71, 79 and 72 for a total of 222.  She posted a ninth place finish at the Cougar Classic and Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate against some of the best competition nationally, while tying for 15th at the SunTrust Gator Invitational.

Duke is awaiting the NCAA Regional Selection on Monday, April 30 at 9:00 p.m.  The sites are either Penn State, Ohio State or Colorado.
