GREENSBORO, N.C.— The All-ACC women’s basketball team as selected by the league’s 15 head coaches was released on Monday with Duke’s Tricia Liston, Elizabeth Williams and Alexis Jones earning honors.

Liston and Williams were named to the 10-member first team, while Jones was selected to the second team.  Williams also earned All-ACC Defensive Team accolades as well.

Members of the first team includes Diamond DeShields (UNC), Markeisha Gatling (NCSU), Dearica Hamby (WFU), Natasha Howard (FSU), Jewell Loyd (Notre Dame), Tyaunna Marshall (Georgia Tech), Kayla McBride (Notre Dame) and Alyssa Thomas (Maryland).

On the second team were Natalie Achonwa (Notre Dame), Kaela Davis (Georgia Tech), Brittney Sykes (Syracuse) and Uju Ugoka (Virginia Tech).

Liston, who is out of River Forest, Ill., had a breakout season as a senior averaging 17.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists.  The 6-1 guard led the nation with a 50.0 three-point field goal percentage as of March 7 and set a new Duke single-season record for three-pointers made with 83.  Liston has registered 15 games with 20 or more points this year to rank second in the ACC.

In the ACC stats, Liston ranks 12th in scoring, first in three-point field goal percentage (48.3), 10th in field goal percentage (52.9), fourth in free throw percentage (85.3) and fifth in three-point field goals made (2.5).   In ACC games only, she ranked ninth in scoring (18.3), first in three-point field goal percentage (52.5), fifth in field goal percentage (53.7), eighth in free throw percentage (81.7) and tied fourth in three-point field goals made (2.6).

Along with earning All-ACC First Team accolades, Williams was named to the All-ACC Defensive team by the coaches.  Other members of the squad included Lexie Gerson (Virginia), Howard (FSU), Loyd (Notre Dame) and Marshall (Georgia Tech).

Williams became just the second Blue Devil in school history to earn All-ACC First Team accolades three times, after averaging 14.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals in the regular season.  The 6-3 center ranks in the top 15 nationally in blocks.

A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Williams ranks in numerous ACC categories including first in blocks, 19th in scoring and 10th in rebounding, ninth in field goal percentage.  In league games only, Williams ranked 18th in scoring (14.6), seventh in rebounding (8.1), 14th in field goal percentage (49.5) and first in blocked shots (3.1).  Williams has totaled 98 blocked shots on the season, which is more than Duke’s opponents have swatted (85).

Over the weekend at the ACC Tournament, both Liston and Williams were named to the All-ACC Tournament First Team, after leading Duke to the championship game.

Receiving second team All-ACC accolades was Jones, after playing in the first 28 games for the Blue Devils.   Jones, a product of Irving, Texas, suffered a torn ACL in against Notre Dame on Feb. 23 and will miss the remainder of the season, after averaging 13.1 points, 5.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals for Duke.

Her 5.3 assist average along with her 2.1 steals mark, ranks second and tied fourth, respectively, in the ACC stats.  She also ranked tied eighth in assist/turnover ratio (1.6) and 22nd in scoring.  Jones’ 40 three-pointers made on the season ranked second on the Duke team, while her 38.8 three-point field goal percentage ranked sixth in the league.

Duke will next await the NCAA Tournament selection show on Monday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m., on ESPN.
