Duke Continues Four-Game Homestand
The seventh-ranked Duke women's lacrosse team (2-0, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) continues a four-game home swing to open the 2013 season Friday, Feb. 15 when it hosts Richmond at 7 p.m. ... The Blue Devils will also face William & Mary Sunday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. Duke will be supporting a weeklong partnership between the Duke Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Samaritan's Feet during Friday evening's contest against Richmond ... The squad will be donning orange shoelaces in support of the foundation, which aims to make a difference in the lives of children in need in every corner of the world ... Fans will have the opportunity to donate money for shoes for those in need at Friday night's game in Koskinen.

Richmond Series History
Friday's contest marks the 13th all-time meeting between Duke and Richmond ... The Blue Devils are winners of the last 11 meetings between the two squads.

Last Time They Met
In last year's contest between the two teams, Duke collected a 17-13 victory on the road ... Sophomore Taylor Trimble led the Blue Devils in that game with five points (4g, 1a) ... 2012 graduate Kim Wenger and senior Makenzie Hommel each totaled four points on three goals and an assist ... The Spiders took an early 2-0 lead in the game before Duke responded with six straight goals for a lead the squad did not relinquish the rest of the way.

Current Blue Devils vs. Richmond

Richmond opened its season with a 20-7 setback to Maryland on Feb. 10 ... Sam Stevenson leads the Spiders with five points on four goals and one assist, while Caitlin Fifield recorded three points in the team's first game of 2013 with one goal and two helpers ... In goal, Emily Boyce has made nine saves and sports a 20.00 goals against average and a .310 save percentage.

Scouting the Tribe
William & Mary is 1-0 on the season after defeating American, 17-13, in Williamsburg on Feb. 13 ... Ellen Shaffrey led the way for the Tribe offensively in that contest, scoring four goals and adding an assist for five points ... teammate Taelor Salmon also notched five points (4g, 1a) in the win ... Shaffrey and Katie Stillwell combined to win nine draw controls ... In goal, William & Mary's Colleen Nofi posted eight saves and owns a 13.00 goals against average to go with a .381 save percentage.

Last Time Out
Following a season-opening win over ACC opponent Virginia Tech, Duke improved to 2-0 on the year with an impressive 23-0 shutout of Presbyterian on Feb. 10 at Koskinen Stadium ... Thirteen different Blue Devils scored in the victory, led by sophomore Chelsea Landon's career-high four-goal performance ... Sophomore Brigid Smith notched a career high with three scores while sophomore Taylor Trimble also recorded a hat trick ... Freshman Maddy Acton corralled a game-high four draw controls to go with one goal, one assist, one ground ball and two caused turnovers ... Senior Kaitlin Gaiss tallied two saves in goal for Duke ... the 23-goal margin was the largest in school history.

Sophomore Duo Sweeps ACC Weekly Honors
Sophomores Kerrin Maurer and Gabby Moise were named the ACC's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, in the conference's first edition of the weekly awards this season ... Maurer has posted a team-high 11 points (5g, 6a) in the first two games of the 2013 campaign ... The Setauket, N.Y., native matched a program single-game record with five assists against Virginia Tech, in addition to recording a hat trick ... Moise paces the Blue Devil defense with five caused turnovers, including a career-high four in the season opener against the Hokies ... The weekly honor was the second of Moise's career and the first for Maurer.

Rookies Make Immediate Impact
Five Blue Devil freshmen have seen the field so far this season with rookie Kelci Smesko entering the starting lineup ... Smesko and classmate Maddy Acton each collected their first collegiate goals in the season opener against Virginia Tech ... Smesko has started both contests this season at attack and has tallied seven points on two goals and five assists ... Acton has recorded four points (3g, 1a) to go with two ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.

In the Month of February
Duke has played 44 games all-time in the second month of the year and is 39-5 all-time during the month ... The Blue Devils last lost a February contest in 2012 against then-No. 1 Northwestern.

Home Sweet Home
The Blue Devils have been tough to beat at Koskinen Stadium in recent years ... From 2007-12, the program notched a 48-10 record when playing at home, including 10-0 marks in both 2007 and 2011 ... Duke is 2-0 in Koskinen this season and 120-38 all-time in home contests ... The Blue Devils' last home loss was a 12-3 defeat at the hands of then-No. 4 Maryland in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament on April 21, 2012.

vs. Unranked Opponents
The Blue Devils are 100-11 all-time when facing unranked teams following a pair of season-opening wins over unranked Virginia Tech and Presbyterian ... Duke has not lost to an unranked opponent since falling 14-13 in overtime to Towson on March 25, 1997 for a streak of 91 consecutive wins.

Against Ranked Opponents
Since the 2008 season, Duke is 37-32 against ranked teams ... The Blue Devils have lost just five times to teams ranked outside the top 10 in the past five years ... The 2012 season saw the Blue Devils compile a 6-7 ledger against ranked teams.

Scheduling the Best
Duke's 2013 slate currently features eight teams ranked in the top 20 of the IWLCA Coaches preseason poll ... The Blue Devils will host just three of those ranked opponents at home and will face five of the current ranked teams on the road.

ACC History
Duke is 1-0 this season and 38-25 all-time in ACC regular season games ... In the 10 seasons from  2003 to 2012, the Blue Devils posted a 28-12 ledger in ACC regular season games, second only to Maryland's mark of 30-10 in that span.

ACC Tournament
The 2013 ACC Tournament will be held in Chapel Hill, N.C., April 25-28 ... The Blue Devils will be seeking their second ACC title in program history and first since 2005.

NCAA Tournament
Duke will also be in the hunt for the program's 16th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2013 ... The Blue Devils own an all-time record of 17-15 in the tournament while making six trips to the national semifinals (1999, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011) ... Duke is one of seven schools with consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances of five or more years, joining Maryland (23), Virginia (17), Northwestern (9), North Carolina (8), Pennsylvania (6) and Massachusetts (5).

Seniors Kaitlin Gaiss, Mie Graham, Lauren Martin and Taylor Virden will serve as the team captains for the 2013 season.

Preseason All-America
Two Blue Devils were named to the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-America teams ... Senior Lauren Martin and junior Taylor Virden each earned a spot on the third team.
