Plumlee Named to CBSSports.com All-America Team

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke senior Mason Plumlee was named to the CBSSports.com All-America second team for his second All-America award this season. Plumlee, who was named to the USBWA All-America second team and the USBWA District III Player of the Year, averages 17.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

A 6-10 forward from Warsaw, Ind., Plumlee led Duke to a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament with a 27-5 overall record and a second-place ACC finish in the regular season. He is one of two Blue Devils to earn All-America honors this season, joining senior classmate Seth Curry who was named to the Sporting News All-America second team.

Plumlee has recorded 17 double-doubles this season and is one of 14 players in the NCAA averaging a double-double. The Warsaw, Ind., native became the 31st player in ACC history to accumulate 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career and enters the NCAA Tournament tied for 24th in league history with 1,053 career rebounds. Plumlee has scored in double figures a team-high 29 times with eight 20-or-more-point outings and a pair of 30-or-more-point efforts.

The 6-10 Plumlee is Duke's 63rd All-America honoree. Krzyzewski has now had 36 All-America selections, which is tops among active coaches. With Plumlee and Curry's accolades this season, Duke has had at least one All-America selection in six consecutive seasons and in 14 of the past 15 years.

Plumlee will lead Duke into the NCAA Tournament Second Round matchup against Albany this Friday, March 22, at 12:15 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
