DURHAM, N.C.—Duke University juniors Brendan Fowler and Jordan Wolf were named to the ACC Men’s Lacrosse All-Tournament team for their performances in the ACC semifinal Friday evening. Fowler and Wolf helped Duke engineer a valiant comeback that ultimately fell short to the No. 1 Tar Heels.
Wolf finished the game with a career-high matching five goals and two assists for seven points. The seven points tied his previous career high, while his five tallies pushed his career total to eight. Wolf netted four goals and an assist in Duke’s 10-1 run that tied the game after trailing 15-6 early in the third quarter. For the season, the Wynnewood, Pa., native has 45 goals and 21 assists for 66 points.
Fowler, one of the top faceoff men in the country, turned in an outstanding second-half performance against the Tar Heels. The junior draw man won 14-of-18 restarts in the second half and 25-of-38 for the game. The 25 faceoff wins were a career-high as surpassed the 20-win mark for the second time this season. He also picked up a career-best 15 ground balls in the setback. For the year, Fowler has won 249-of-377 draws and picked up a Duke single-season record 159 ground balls.
Duke closes out its regular season schedule Sunday, May 5 at Marquette. Faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
