In the seventh installment of the Blue Devil Vault, former Blue Devil standout David Henderson sat down with the Blue Devil Network to talk about Coach K's knack as a motivator and how well his Duke teams were prepared for their opponents. Henderson was a member of Coach K's famed 1982 recruiting class that included Mark Alarie, Jay Bilas and Johnny Dawkins and led Duke to its first Final Four and ACC Championship under Coach K in 1986.
Henderson scored over 1,500 points during his Duke career and still ranks among Duke's top 30 in points scored. He played in 128 games and averaged double figures in three straight seasons, including a career-best 14.2 points per game during Duke's run to the 1986 national championship game.
The Blue Devil Vault is a weekly series of interviews with former Duke players and others associated with the program during Duke basketball's decorated history. Be sure the check back every Thursday afternoon for a new episode.
