DURHAM, N.C. – Fresh off a series win over No. 15 Georgia Tech , the Duke baseball team wraps up its nine-game home stand with a pair of non-conference games this week at Jack Coombs Field. The Blue Devils welcome UNC Greensboro Tuesday at 6 p.m., before facing N.C. Central Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The Blue Devil Network will provide a broadcast of the game available through GoDuke.com. Chris Edwards and Steve Barnes will call the action Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. Fans can also follow updates via @Duke_BASE, the official Twitter account of Duke baseball.

Duke (19-14, 8-7 ACC) has won six of its past seven games heading into the matchup against UNCG. The Blue Devils went 3-1 last week, downing Davidson Tuesday before taking 2-of-3 from the 15th-ranked Yellow Jackets.

The Blue Devils’ pitching was outstanding against Georgia Tech, beginning with sophomore Trent Swart’s effort Friday night. Swart stymied the nation’s leading offense club, scattering seven hits over eight scoreless innings. Sophomore Andrew Istler came on in the ninth to pick up his league-leading seventh save of the season. Sophomore Andy Perez was 2-for-4 at the plate while junior Mark Lumpa went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Duke to the 2-0 victory.

Saturday, Georgia Tech scored the go-ahead run on an infield single in the top of the eighth and held on to defeat Duke 2-1. Lumpa again led the Duke offense with his second-straight 2-for-3 performance of the series. Junior Drew Van Orden put together a gritty performance on the mound, allowing just one run on three hits in the no decision.

Junior Robert Huber threw his second consecutive shutout Sunday to lead the Blue Devils to a series-clinching, 3-0 victory. Huber issued just one walk, scattered five hits and struck out seven batters en route to ACC Pitcher of the Week honors. Perez belted a pair of triples in the game to pace the Blue Devil bats.

With the two shutouts, Duke became the first team to blank Georgia Tech twice in the same series since Georgia recorded 3-0 and 5-0 wins over the Yellow Jackets March 14 and 15, 1955. Georgia Tech entered the weekend as the national leader in batting average, slugging percentage and home runs per game. The Blue Devils were able to hold the Yellow Jackets to a season-low two runs over the three-game series. Prior to facing Duke, Georgia Tech averaged 24.4 runs per weekend series and had scored at least 18 runs in each of its three-games sets this season.

UNC Greensboro is 16-16 overall and 4-8 in the Southern Conference entering Tuesday’s game. The Spartans most recently dropped 2-of-3 to conference foe College of Charleston this past weekend.

Tuesday’s game is the first of a home-and-home series with the Spartans as the two teams will meet again May in Greensboro. Duke holds a 6-5 lead in the all-time series and a 5-3 advantage when facing the Spartans in Durham. Last season, UNCG defeated Duke 4-3 in Durham, N.C.

After earning a 6-3 win over N.C. Central March 12, the Blue Devils look to take the season series against the Eagles Wednesday. Duke is 11-0 all-time against its cross-town foe.

Duke hits the road for the first time since March 26, traveling to Tallahassee, Fla., for a showdown with No. 7 Florida State over the weekend. Game times are Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m., and Sunday at 12 p.m.
