Prior to Duke: Two-time All-America for the indoor 800m...in 2007, finished third in the 800m at the Outdoor Statement...ten-time all-state in cross country, indoor and outdoor track...named North Shore High School Athlete of the Year as a senior...finished second in the Class B cross country state meet in 2008...sixteen-time All-Nassau County honoree...member of the National Honor Society...AP Scholar with honors.

Personal: Daughter of Donna Jean and Robert Welch...born Mar. 21, 1992...has one brother, Dylan, and two sisters, Alexanndria and Cailey...mother ran track at Houston (1985), Arizona State (1986-88) and Hunter College (1988-89)...father played basketball at Morrisville State College and Hunter College.
