Johnston and McCrory will throw out the first pitches prior to the start of Thursday's contest between the Bulls and the Norfolk Tides at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in downtown Durham. They will also meet with fans and sign autographs on the main concourse of the stadium during the game.
As members of Team USA, Johnston and McCrory snapped a 12-year medal drought for the United States in Olympic diving. Johnston helped the U.S. capture its first Olympic medal in a synchronized diving event when she and Kelci Bryant won the silver in the women's synchronized 3-meter competition at the London Games. Just one day later, McCrory and David Boudia captured the bronze in the men's synchronized 10-meter platform event. A native of Chapel Hill, N.C., McCrory also advanced to the finals of the men's individual 10-meter platform competition and finished ninth overall.
Thursday's game begins at 7:05 p.m., with Johnston and McCrory slated to throw out the ceremonial first pitches at 6:45 p.m. For more information about the game, visit the Bulls' website.
