DURHAM, N.C.— Senior Allison Vernerey and the Blue Devils vs. Cancer student group hosted the second annual Sweet Night in Durham on Sunday to benefit the Duke Cancer Institute. The event was a huge success as they were expecting to raise over $8,000 for cancer research. The Blue Devil Network was there to get highlights of the event.
Vernerey, who is a product of Alsace, France, got involved with the Duke Cancer Institute two years ago and has since then she has been a key member of its team. She was presented with a special award on Sunday evening from the Duke Cancer Institute for all her hard work the last two years.
