DURHAM, N.C. - Duke field hockey junior defender Paula Heimbach earned 2012 Longstreth/NFHCA DI All-America third team honors as announced by the organization on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.  This is the first All-America honor for Heimbach, who also garnered All-ACC and All-South Region accolades this season.

The Palm, Pa., native started all 18 games on the Blue Devils' defensive line during the 2012 season and has started 40 out of 41 games in her Duke career. She picked up her first collegiate defensive save in Duke's ACC tournament game against Maryland and scored her first collegiate goal against California on October 19 in overtime to secure a Duke victory.

Heimbach is the 40th All-American in program history and is one of twelve members of the ACC to receive this award in 2012.  For a complete list click here
