DURHAM, N.C. – As the U.S. Women’s Open gets set to get started Thursday, June 19 at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club Course No. 2 in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C., Duke will be represented by Duke junior Celine Boutier and two-time All-America Brittany Lang.

The U.S. Women’s Open will take place from June 19-22 and will be played as 6,649 yards on a par 70 track.

Boutier will kick off her first appearance in the U.S. Women’s Open at 12:41 p.m., off hole No. 1 Thursday along with Jordan Ferreira and Brooke Pancake, while Lang will tee off Thursday on hole No. 10 at 1:25 p.m., with Morgan Pressel and Yani Tseng.

A product of Montrouge, France, Boutier closed a sophomore campaign by helping Duke win its sixth NCAA Championship in Tulsa, Okla.  The rising junior carded a standout season, which concluded with Honda Award and WGCA National Player of the Year honors.  She totaled a 71.50 stroke average, three victories, six top five finishes and seven top 10 placements on the year.  Boutier, the runner-up at the NCAA Championship and the ACC Individual Champion, was the hottest golfer in the nation during the spring posting three wins and a 70.77 stroke average in seven tournaments and a 616-37 head-to-head record.

Boutier qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open by carding rounds of 72 and 70 on her way to claiming medalist honors at the sectional qualifying played at The Heritage Golf Course in Westminister, Colo.

A runner-up in the 2005 U.S. Women’s Open, Lang will appear in her 10th open and has made six straight cuts in the tournament.  In 2010, she tied for fifth overall with a three-over-par, 287, and last year she carded a tied seventh finish with a 290.  Lang, a 2004 and 2005 Duke All-America, registered her first career LPGA victory in 2012 when she won the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic June 24 at the Grey Silo Golf Course in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
