Parking and Traffic Alert – Sunday, February 5, 2012

Men’s Tennis vs. Notre Dame – 12:00 PM – Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center
Men’s Basketball vs. St. John’s – 12:00 PM – Cameron Indoor Stadium
Men’s Tennis vs. NCCU – 5:00 PM – Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center


DURHAM, N.C. - Please be advised that there will be several athletic events scheduled on campus on Sunday, February 5th including a men’s basketball game vs. Miami at 3:00 PM.  These events will significantly affect traffic flow and parking in and around Duke’s West Campus.  Please plan extra time in your travels and abide by the direction of parking and traffic staff set-up on and around campus. Staff will be posted to aid with your ingress and egress from parking areas and campus roadways. 

Iron Duke Men’s Basketball parking operations will operate normally for fans with a Men’s Basketball Iron Duke parking pass.  The Iron Duke parking lots will open on campus at 10:00 AM.

Fans attending the men’s basketball game without a Men’s Basketball Iron Duke parking pass or those attending the tennis matches will need to park in the Men’s Basketball General Public parking lots on Circuit Drive.  The cost to park is $10 and only CASH is accepted at lot entrances.  The general public parking lots will open at 10:00 AM.  Please find below the recommended ingress directions for Men’s Basketball General Public parking.

Parking for Persons with Disabilities for all events is available in the Science Drive Visitor’s Lot.  To access the Science Drive Visitor’s Lot access Science Drive from NC 751 (Cameron Blvd) or Towerview Drive.  The Science Drive Visitor’s Lot will open at 10:00 AM and the cost to park is $10 and only CASH is accepted at the lot entrance.  Shuttles for Persons with Mobility Impairments and an ADA Lift equipped van will begin operation at 10:00 AM from the Science Drive Visitor’s Lot to the front of Cameron Indoor Stadium and Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.  The shuttles and van will run until 6:00 PM.    An accessible drop-off and pick-up point for persons with disabilities is located in front of Cameron Indoor Stadium.  To access the drop-off and pick-up point, see the attendant located at the entrance to Whitford Drive.  Post-game access to the accessible drop-off and pick-up point won’t be permitted until post-game pedestrian traffic clears Whitford Drive. 

Tennis fans, including those with disabilities, accessing campus after 3:30 PM, can park in the Blue Zone located off Duke University Road.  Fans should enter at the Iron Gate located on Duke University Road between Towerview Drive and NC 751 (Cameron Bllvd).  There is no charge to park in the Blue Zone after 3:30 PM.  The entrance to the Blue Zone parking area will close at 6:30 PM.  Fans can exit the Blue Zone parking area anytime on Sunday evening.

From NC 147 North

1.    Follow NC 147 North to exit 15B for Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
2.    Turn left onto Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
3.    Turn right onto Erwin Road
4.    Turn left onto LaSalle Street
5.    Turn right onto Circuit Drive

From NC 147 South

1.    Follow NC 147 South to exit 15 for Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
2.    Turn right onto Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
3.    Turn right onto Erwin Road
4.    Turn left onto LaSalle Street
5.    Turn right onto Circuit Drive

From I-85 North

1.    Follow I-85 North to exit 172 to merge onto NC 147 South toward Durham/RTP/Downtown
2.    Follow NC 147 South to exit 15 for Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
3.    Turn right onto Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
4.    Turn right onto Erwin Road
5.    Turn left onto LaSalle Street
6.    Turn right onto Circuit Drive

From I-85 South

1.    Follow I-85 South to exit 174A onto 15-501 South (Signs for US-70 BUS/Hillsborough Rd/Chapel Hill)
2.    Follow 15-501 South to exit 108A for Morreene Road
3.    Turn left onto Morreene Road
4.    Turn left onto Erwin Road
5.    Turn right onto LaSalle Street
6.    Turn right onto Circuit Drive

From I-40 East

1.    Follow I-40 East to exit 192 and merge left onto I-85 North
2.    Follow I-85 North to exit 172 to merge onto NC 147 South toward Durham/RTP/Downtown
3.    Follow NC 147 South to exit 15 for Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
4.    Turn right onto Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
5.    Turn right onto Erwin Road
6.    Turn left onto LaSalle Street
7.    Turn right onto Circuit Drive

From I-40 West

1.    Follow I-40 West to exit 279B to merge onto NC 147 North toward Durham/Downtown
2.    Follow NC 147 North to exit 15B for Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
3.    Turn left onto Hillandale Road/Fulton Street
4.    Turn right onto Erwin Road
5.    Turn left onto LaSalle Street
6.    Turn right onto Circuit Drive
