Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie:

Opening Statement:
"We weren't ready at the start of the game and I thought Wake Forest did a great job at coming at us. Eventually the team came together though and just as we did that, Chelsea [Gray] went down. There was a lot to this game. I am very proud of this team and the way that they fought. The enormous difficulty of losing a point guard of Chelsea's stature in-game as well as having to play against a very good Wake Forest team that played some of it's best basketball all year cannot be understated. It had an NCAA tournament feel to it with shooters firing off from all over the court and having to cope with unexpected factors. I think Tricia Liston's leadership was tremendous. She led in attacking and working with her team. She was basically the point guard out there and ran the show. Elizabeth [Williams] was tremendous as well, definitely frustrated at times but still able to be a key for us at the end of the game. It was a great learning game."

How Duke finished the game:
"Tricia and Elizabeth were so critical for us by doing what they do and doing it with great confidence and poise in a tough situation. I think it was a huge test of our team's resilience and I think we passed it with flying colors relative to execution, poise and team leadership. The team needed some calm out there and the team was able to adjust to losing a point guard that does so much for our team. It was foreign territory for us but I think we did a great job coming through."

On Richa Jackson's momentum swinging three pointer:
"Richa plays fearless and is a smart player in the sense that she loves to play and attack. Everybody made big plays down the stretch and when Richa came in she hit that really important three on the right wing. We have to grow Richa further. She has battled back from injuries so we have to work with her."

On Chelsea Gray's injury:
"We will find out after the MRI. It's been dislocated and team doctors can't see right now whether there is any ligament damage. We do know she will be out for the rest of the regular season regardless of what the MRI shows. The best thing we can hope for is a dislocation, which would allow her to be back by a defined period of time."

How to replace Chelsea Gray's contributions to the team:
"I think it is a great opportunity. You saw what Tricia did today in stepping up for the team, what Elizabeth did and what I'm sure others will do moving forward. We are going to keep doing what we do. Alexis Jones will have a bigger role, Tricia will play the point, Chloe will play. We are fortunate that we have a great cast of characters and this is a great opportunity for them to step up like we saw today. We will expect that every game, maybe from different players of maybe from the same person."

Duke Junior Tricia Liston:

On the difference down the stretch and finishing the game:
"One thing I think we did well was we stayed in our heads.  We didn't get out of ourselves.  The crowd was great today but I think we stayed poised down to the end.  Then we got stops on defense and we came down and we'd execute well on offense and get a shot or a second shot and score.  I think our execution down the stretch as well as our poise was really big for us."

On Chelsea Gray cheering on the team from the bench in the second half:
"It's awesome.  I love playing with Chelsea on the court and off the court to see her there cheering on.  In the timeouts I would walk over there right before I went out and she would tell me something I needed to do or look for on the court.  She was there the whole game.  Everybody felt her presence in the game and especially her coming out in the second half and being as strong as she was today was a huge thing for our team."

Duke Sophomore Elizabeth Williams:

On regrouping from missing easy shots to making a difference down the stretch:
"I just tried to pick things up defensively.  Anyone can miss shots but defense is a mindset so I tried to get my hand on a lot of balls.  Offensively I would post up even harder and try to get to the boards."

On regrouping after Chelsea Gray's injury:
"It's definitely scary.  We definitely had to look within ourselves and try to stay focused and stay poised.  I think overall we did a pretty good job of that, especially coming out in the second half."

Wake Forest head coach Jen Hoover:

Opening Statement:
"First of all, I am so proud of this team today. I thought at times we made big plays, defensive stops, our intensity and our effort. We talked about playing through and playing multiple options. Overall, I thought we had different people step up for us at different times. Obviously, Duke is a phenomenal basketball team. They have a lot of balance and a lot of different weapons. When one goes down, they have someone step up and try to take over. Obviously, Tricia Liston did that today."

On team's performance and playing together:
"Well I think this group has been understanding how well we can play when we do play well together and feed off each other. I think the mentality of this group is that we can compete and play with anybody. We tend to dig ourselves some holes that we like to fire ourselves out of after the fact. Today, for the most part, we didn't do that. We still got down, I think we were down nine in the first half and at halftime even. This group when we do what we do individually well and are bringing it to the table we are a very good basketball team. As we grow and mature we are kind of understanding those roles and accepting those roles."

On play of Sandra Garcia:
"I challenged the post players in shoot around to dominate the paint and that is a couple of big words to say against a couple of post players [Elizabeth Williams and Haley Peters] who just put up 50 points against Virginia Tech. I told them as a group, our group of post players, let's dominate the paint. I thought she took that to heart and was aggressive right from the get go. I thought offensively and defensively she did a phenomenal job for us. Dearica Hamby came in at times, she had to make a big adjustment. In the first half I think she was being a little soft. She did a good job of making that adjustment. We challenged the post-game to be a big factor inside for us today, to be attacking and aggressive. Last time we played them, we felt like we didn't get enough paint touches. That is not just post play that was penetration and post touches. We talked about that and focused on that a bit. I think that is one reason it opened up our outside shot."

On difference down the stretch:
"Well, I think where that team is and what they have done and their confidence, they know who to get the ball to. It was either in Liston's hands or Elizabeth Williams' hands and no one else. Everybody else got the ball to those two. I thought that we, down the stretch, had one crucial turnover. We were trying to get the ball inside and we threw it out of bounds. We had two possessions at the end where we kind of spoiled. A lot of that is their defense and they created that."

Wake Forest Junior Chelsea Douglas

On the team's offensive game:
"My teammates go out there and make plays and they put me in great position to make plays. It gives our whole team a lot of confidence."

On the team's quick start:
"We can score. Our offense is not the problem. It is just we are inconsistent on the defensive end."
