Durham, N.C. -- The First Year ACTION Program celebrated the end of another successful year with a mentor dinner on Thursday, April 25th.  FYA mentors are sophomore, junior and senior student athletes who run the small group component of the FYA program by facilitating discussions with first year student athletes.  The dinner was a casual gathering to thank the mentors for all of their hard work and dedication to the program throughout the year.

The program met seven times throughout the academic year.  First year student athletes benefit from the program through the establishment of peer connections, mentoring by upperclassmen and the development of skills to help them make the kind of choices that will allow them to be successful during their academic and athletic career at Duke.
