The program met seven times throughout the academic year. First year student athletes benefit from the program through the establishment of peer connections, mentoring by upperclassmen and the development of skills to help them make the kind of choices that will allow them to be successful during their academic and athletic career at Duke.

Commitment – November: Learning more about yourself and how to communicate with others through the COLORS Personality exercise with Dr. Dale and Scott Yakola
Teamwork – January: Community outreach with the Emily K Center
Integrity – February: You Can Play Project presentation on equality, respect, & safety for all student athletes regardless of sexual orientation
Opportunity – March: Career and major exploration with Career Center Staff
NOW – April: Learn about leadership opportunities in the athletic department, on campus and in the community
