DURHAM, N.C. – Former All-ACC offensive guard Dave Harding will transition from the sideline to the broadcast booth as the lead analyst for Duke football on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network, announced on Wednesday by Pat Streko, General Manager of Duke's IMG property.

In the booth, Harding replaces Wes Chesson, who retired after serving the past 36 seasons as the network's analyst alongside Hall of Fame play-by-play announcer Bob Harris. Harding will pair with newly-appointed play-by-play broadcaster David Shumate to call the gridiron action beginning with Duke's season-opening contest against N.C. Central on September 2.

“I'm both humbled and honored to transition into the role of analyst for Duke Football and the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network,” Harding said. “Sincere thanks to Pat Streko for this incredible opportunity and to Bob Harris and Wes Chesson. Without their guidance and support, I would not have been prepared for such an appointment. My passion for Duke Football is immeasurable, and my goal is to provide all Blue Devil fans with passionate, in-depth analysis of the action on the field.”

Harding, who started 41 games along the offensive line at Duke and was a team captain in 2013 when the Blue Devils won a school single-season record 10 games and captured the ACC Coastal Division championship, served the 2016 season as the sideline reporter on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network. The Orlando, Fla., native graduated from Duke in 2013 with a degree in public policy studies, earned a graduate degree in political science in 2014 and currently serves as an Associate Director for the Blue Devil Network, the video branch of the Duke athletic department.

“First off, congratulations to Dave – he's worked extremely hard and is deserving of this opportunity,” Duke head coach David Cutcliffe said. “We are indebted to Wes Chesson for 36 years of broadcasting with unwavering support and dedication to our program – he will be missed – but at the same time we're excited for Dave to join David Shumate in the booth.”

Streko also announced that John Roth will serve as the sideline reporter for Duke football games and continue in his role as lead analyst for Blue Devil basketball contests. In addition, John Rose returns as the engineer for the network broadcast team.

“Moving Dave from the sideline into the booth is a natural progression,” Streko said. “He's earned this opportunity with hard work, preparation and a desire to become an outstanding broadcaster. No one has greater passion for Duke Football than Dave, and he is a proven asset around the Atlantic Coast Conference for his multimedia capabilities. We're excited about pairing him with David Shumate – they have the potential to blossom into a truly outstanding broadcast tandem. John Roth has been a very important element of our broadcasts for many years, and our listeners will continue to appreciate his interviews and reporting from the sideline. As our engineer, John Rose is the consummate teammate who has and will continue to play a vital role in the success of each and every broadcast. We are very excited to enter the upcoming year with such a talented broadcast team.”
