2016-17: Participated in four events in the 2016 cross country season… Finished in sixth place with a personal best time of 15:10.50 in the 5K at the Three Stripe Invitational… Competed in five events in the indoor campaign…Finished in second place in the 1 mile run at the VT Challenge (2/18) with a season best time of 4:13.12…Qualified for the ACC Indoor Championships in the same event and earned a 24th place finish…Took part in one event in the 2017 outdoor season…Finished in 43rd place in the 1,500m at the Raleigh Relays (3/25) with a time of 3:53.48…Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

2015-16: Participated in two meets during the fall campaign, opening the season with a second-place finish at the Bull City Classic (9/12)…also took the start for the Royals Challenge (10/10), finishing 52nd overall…competed in one meet during the indoor season, placing 13th in the 3,000 with a converted time of 8:28.11 at the Camel City Invitational (1/29)…primarily focused on the 1,500 during the outdoor campaign, clocking a personal-best time of 3:48.91 at the ACC Championships (5/13)…placed second in the 3,000 at the Spec Towns Invite (4/8)…also participated on Duke’s 4xmile team that placed seventh at the Penn Relays (4/30)…named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

2014-15: Participated in four competitions during the fall…donned the Duke jersey for the first time at the JMU Invitational (9/13), finishing 14th with a personal-best 8K time of 25:33.0…recorded a fifth-place finish at the Royals XC Challenge (10/13) while registering a time of 25:44.4…served as Duke’s fourth finisher at the Pre-National Invitational (10/13) after crossing the finish in a time of 26:22.0…did not compete during the indoor or outdoor seasons.

Prior to Duke: Four year letterwinner under Brian Lee at Trinity Christian School in Montville, N.J…earned seven state championships during high school career…captured the 2013 and 2014 cross country state championship titles…crowned the 2012-13 state champion for 1,600m indoors…also earned the 2013 state titles for the 1,600 and the 3,200 during the outdoor season…successfully defended 1,600m and 3,200m state titles the following outdoor season…garnered 2013 all-state first team honors for cross country by the Newark Star-Ledger…set a course and personal-best cross country time of 15:24.3 at the Morris County Championships…named 2013 Morris County Runner of the Year and 2013 Spring Morris County Athlete of the Year…recognized as 2012 and 2013 Daily Record Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Personal: Son of Steve and Beverly Hanko…born Dec. 21, 1995…has three brothers, Andrew, Jared and Aaron…brother, Andrew, competed four years as a member of Navy’s track & field team…brother, Jared, also competed four years as a member of Seton Hall’s cross country team.
