The Blue Devils begin competition Friday, Sept. 1, hosting the Bull City Classic and will compete against North Carolina Central University, while also giving alumni the opportunity to race against their former squad. The women’s 5k will kick off the event at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s 6k at 6 p.m.
Following the home meet, the women will travel to Cary, N.C., to compete in the Adidas Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Sept. 15, while the men head south to Rock Hill, S.C., for the Winthrop Invite on Saturday, Sept. 16 before traveling to Minneapolis, Minn., for the Roy Griak Invite on Saturday, Sept. 23. Duke closes out its September slate of contests as the women will share athletes on Friday, Sept. 29 between Paul Short (top seven) in Bethlehem, Pa., and at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
Both the men and women will represent Duke at the ECU Pirates Invite on Friday, Oct. 13 in Greenville, N.C., and select Blue Devil women will compete in Louisville, Ky., at the Pre Nationals meet (top seven) on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The 2017 men’s and women’s ACC Championships are slated for Friday, Oct. 27 in Louisville, Ky., on the campus of the University of Louisville. Duke will return to the state of North Carolina for the Adidas Three Stripe on Saturday, Nov. 4 in Cary, N.C.
Qualifying Blue Devils will compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Charlottesville, Va., on Friday, Nov. 10, and on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky.
The Duke men’s and women’s cross country teams reconvene Tuesday, Aug. 15 with the start of preseason camp.
